yes, lil sis and I do get obsessed over lots of things (hers: Target, frozen grapes). must be in our nature. Anyways, remember the horrible zipper foot incident? Well, I am happy to say that my Singer has not failed me (knock, knock, knock). I have changed out the foot on my machine SEVERAL times and my machine still works perfectly. No problems with the tension, which makes me a very happy camper. So here is what I had been working on way back when…

These zipper pouches are my new obsession! It took me awhile to get the hang of them and I have thought of tons of uses for them…one to hold my gym ID and key, another to hold my gift cards b/c don’t you hate when they are scattered around everywhere and I HATE making my wallet all bulky just to hold gift cards that I may not use for a very long time, misc cards like passes, Costco, etc. Anyways, LOVE them!
Lil sis just opened a Twitter account. So you can see what we are doing on a daily basis! Yes, so exciting…I know.

…when you take a turbo kick boxing class at 8:30 pm, have your a** handed to you (my husband’s saying…but it SO works here), walk out of the gym super flushed (and remain that way for the next 45 minutes or so), feel weak in the knees…BUT still manage to drive to McDonald’s and order a caramel sundae at 10 pm. Here comes the BEST part…when you get to enjoy it at 11 pm guilt free!

Does anyone else love Target like me? My obsession got worse after getting married. When the hubs said he was going to watch football for the whole day, where did I go to kill time? Target. If we got into a fight, who did I turn to? Target. Where do I take Lila during the day to just get out of the house? Target, of course!
My only problem is I have a bad habit of buying knick knacks. However, I can always find a place for them in my house. The hubs knows I have an addiction, so when I say I’m going to Target he expects me coming back with one too many bags. Don’t worry, I can justify each expense.
My favorite purchases thus far – Target bird napkin holder $10. Target placemats for Easter $2.99-$3.99.

How can you not leave Target without buying something for yourself? It’s just too hard!

So I made my first “official” preschool observation this morning. I LOVE my city. I grew up here, left for a little while and being that my husband also grew up here, we knew that ultimately this is where we wanted to raise our children. But I must say the city is pretty strict. You know they have the typical…your lawn must be groomed, your paint colors must be neutral and approved, your trash bins must be out of sight, you can’t have too many cars parked in your driveway AND the cars must be in working condition…oh, is this not typical?
So one could only expect that a preschool housed on city property would also follow along these lines and have some pretty strict guidelines. which, I must admit, I don’t absolutely hate. But here’s my problem. The kids rotate between 3 centers (40 minutes each), where only one is led by a certified teacher. The rest…parents! So now why I am paying $520 (times 2 b/c I have twins)? When you really break it down, I’m paying the school for their ability to gather a large group of parents and have them take turns babysitting. Harsh? ugh…I have 3 more scheduled visits. It looks like I may turn our house into a “mini” preschool. 1 teacher (who can also serve as a therapist, PE instructor, singer, dancer, AND don’t forget crafter) + two kids = AWESOME preschool!!! Anyone want to apply?

Well, if there isn’t, there should be such a thing. Have you ever not wanted to do something b/c you can’t think of what to do…so then you just waste your time surfing the internet??? Sure, I could clean the house; I could catch up on my gazillion Tivo’d shows, I could pack a lunch for my husband, could’ve, would’ve, should’ve.
I just realized that I spent almost 3 hours on the computer reading other people’s blogs. ugh…I’m having a hard time piecing together April (for my twins’ scrapbooks) that I’m just avoiding it…that’s all.
Nothing serious. I hope to get over it soon…hopefully by the end of this week
On a happier note, hasn’t the weather been so nice? I love it when the kids and I can play outside and not have to worry about them being sick or getting burned! Hope you are having a wonderful week so far.

Lil sis and I spent our morning at Joann’s. I’m telling you…no matter how short I try to make my visit there, it ends up being AT LEAST an hour. I have to let you in on a lil secret…perhaps you may already know…but did you know that you can use Michael’s coupons there?! Was I the only one in the dark? Also, you can sign up for their newsletter online as well as their flyer in the mail and use ALL the coupons at one time! AND don’t forget about the coupons from the LA Times. Hey, why not? If you do alot of shopping there, might as well make the best use of their coupons!
So here’s a lil something I bought from their Easter section. I almost forgot about all of my Easter decorations! Please excuse the wrinkled table runner in the back. I know it’s ugly but I’d rather be on the computer than iron

What a super cute idea! This will be our 2nd year dyeing eggs (oh…the first year was SO stressful) and I thought this would be so cute as our table centerpiece. And it’s 50% off right now!
Moving on…I don’t have much of a green thumb. Like everything in my life (well, with alot), I try and do things with lots of gusto. meaning…I research, read, ask lots of q’s, etc…but when it comes to gardening, I’m not quite there yet. So when things bloom, I get super excited! mainly, because the plant didn’t die
So what I thought was an orchid is actually a cymbidium. Don’t ask b/c I have no idea of the difference between the two. But it is a beauty and I can very much appreciate it.

This plus two orchids (which are in full bloom as well) sit on my patio table and every time I look out the window, I am amazed at how they did not die and better yet, how they managed to blossom! Now, if only I can replicate whatever I did right for next year…

Where does the time go? So back to my rotation…I struggled with how to layout March and after searching and pulling out old ideas I decided to go with this.

The bee and flowers are kinda freakish b/c they are so big! but under time constraints, I’m content.
Besides scrapbooking, I have been scheduling away. My twins will be 3 in May…I know, can you believe it? Anyways, the whole preschool thing is weighing down on me. What to do? Do I send them out in the world alone or continue being joined at the hip (2 kids = one on each hip)? I have a few visits/observations I have scheduled so that I can make a decision I won’t regret. What makes this decision so difficult? Well, if I’m not having any more kids, I really do want to make the best of my time with them while they are little. On the other hand, I would love some alone time! even if it’s just for 2-3 hours…
On a different note…perhaps this is not the proper place but since I just got back from our field trip, the feelings are a bit raw and I feel the need to vent! So the kids’ field trip was to a gymnastic center. My twins were immediately drawn to the trampoline and from there you could jump into this HUGE bin of foam cubes. Quite exciting for the lil ones (and the big ones). Anyways, my son jumps off and before you know it, a little girl follows RIGHT after him and jumps on top of him. Of course, my maternal instinct kicks in and if he wasn’t hurt, then I would have left it alone. But he started to cry which kicked my emotions into momma bear mode. My BIGGEST pet peeve…when parents think that they can just let 2-3 year olds wander around aimlessly and not have to, at the very least, be vigilant of their whereabouts! And yes, this was probably very passive aggressive but really it was not the place for me to become confrontational…afterall, it is a mommy-and-me class. So I made a general “announcement” that parents should really stay near their kids so that their own kid or others woudn’t get hurt. Then, my mother-in-law jumps in (now, she’s the one who cried when my kids got vaccinated!) and wants to know which kid it was! What was she going to do? Anyways, the mother got the message and took her kid to another area. Did she make her daughter apologize? no…probably out of fear that I OR my mother-in-law was going to kick her you know what!
Anyways, I really am a nice person but if you harm my child, BE SCARED! BE VERY SCARED!

The party turned out great…good weather (yay that it didn’t rain), good company, and good food. I tried a new catering place, and the food was actually better than I expected. I am bummed that I scratched my dining room table. Darn that Target wire cake stand! Oh well, my family and friends made up for it.
Some of Lila’s favorite things she received:

Who knew Anthro made baby clothes? Love her shopping cart cover and craft apron! SKB made the cutest painting that I’ll be hanging in her room this week. I just love that Elmo shirt too…love Sesame Street which is weird because I don’t think I cared for them when I was a kid.
Big sis bought flowers at Farmer’s Market for me because I didn’t have time, and she ended up picking up Lilacs. Lilacs for Lila!

I’m sad it’s all over, but there are so many things I need to do which will keep me BUSY the next few months. I need to start sewing again with the new Japanese fabrics we purchased from Reprodepot. I put in my photo order at Walgreens to start scrapbooking for Lila’s baby album. BTW, there is a special at Walgreens – 50 prints for $5! Code is March. I also need to start planning for my friend’s baby shower! I have to make the most of this year before I have to go back to work. Thinking about that makes me depressed because I LOVE staying at home with my daughter. ahh..I can go on and on about that. Have a great day everyone.
